The Lodge

Tatami, wood smoke & a deep hot bath

Two tatami rooms with futons and a western bedroom sleep up to nine. A wood-burning stove warms the lounge, a large kotatsu anchors the tatami room, and sliding doors open the two into one generous space. The bathroom holds a deep Japanese-style bath; a dedicated drying corridor hangs nine full sets of ski gear.

Four Seasons

A year-round mountain base

Winter

Dynaland, Takasu, Washigatake and WhitePia slopes all within 25 minutes. Come home to the stove and a hot bath.

Spring

Cherry blossom over the stream, cycling through quiet valleys, day trips to UNESCO-listed Shirakawa-go.

Summer

Gujo Odori, Japan's most famous dance festival, river swimming, ayu fishing on the clear Nagara River.

Autumn

Maple-red mountainsides, onsen evenings, and the old castle town of Gujo-Hachiman at its most beautiful.
